Los Angeles Beats New York, 6-1
|
The Los Angeles Stars topped the New York Skyliners, 6-1, in Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association action at Skyliners Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Los Angeles pitcher Adam Scali. Scali yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. Picking up his 1st save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Erik Fink.
Los Angeles catcher Brennan Batchelder contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 2nd hit of the season and put the Stars ahead, 2-0.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Scali.
New York drops to 1-1.
