Led by Toyokazu Takahashi, the Keiper Krakens defeated the Tokyo 99ers, 9-6. Takahashi went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Krakens. Meynard Demape was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was 24-year old right-handed pitcher John Brown. The win puts Keiper at 10-7 this season.

Had Matt Racine not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Racine hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Krakens.
