Dark Knights Absorb 4-3 Home Loss
|
The Ceres Asteroids picked up a win at Lumineers Grounds, knocking off the Lunar Dark Knights, 4-3. On the mound for Ceres was right-hander Kauluwehi Illawarra. He played a key role in the triumph. Illawarra picked up the win for Ceres, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Bill Madrueno notched his 5th save of the season.
Ceres used a clutch at-bat from Stefan Verhallen to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Asteroids ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We took home the win," said Verhallen. "What's not to like?"
The win elevated the Asteroids to 9-8.
