New York and Iceland duked it out and the Skyliners came out victorious.

The New York Skyliners picked up a win at Aurora Field, downing the Iceland Aurora, 6-3. On the mound for New York was right-hander Eddie Johnson, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 7 innings, Johnson surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 5. He allowed 2 runs.

New York used a timely hit from Matt MacGillivray to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Skyliners ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Eddie throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said New York manager Dan Danielson.

New York is now 13-4. Iceland is 7-10.
