Monsters Win at Paris, 5-4
|
Though he had a terrific game, Octavio Muro could not prevent his team, the Paris Lions, from absorbing a loss. Mobile won the game, 5-4. Muro was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Monsters have a one-game lead in their division.
Had Owen Bond not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Bond hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Monsters.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bond. "And not try to do too much."
