Umbriel Loss Tarnishes Carney Performance
The Keiper Krakens overcame a pretty good performance by Umbriel first baseman Griff Carney, beating the Shadows, 6-4, at Kraken Grounds. Carney hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Conor Whitehead was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Earning his 5th save for Keiper was David Grullon.

The Krakens got a big at-bat from first baseman Roberto Torrez. For the game, Torrez was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Keiper a 3-1 lead.
