Mobile Monsters starter Omar Cespedes turned in a top-notch performance against the Paris Lions at Paris Municipal Park. The result was a win for the Monsters, 5-0. Cespedes yielded no runs over 8.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 5, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-2. By defeating Paris, the third-place Monsters improved to 11-13.

Mobile used a clutch at-bat from Steven Wright to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Monsters ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Omar knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Mobile manager Dan Danielson.
