Kamiya Slams 5 Hits for Imabari Thursday, June 19th , 1958 It was a high-five day for Takayashi Kamiya, at least for a while. The Imabari left fielder got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Osakikamijima Ferriers, but they were in short supply at the end, as Osakikamijima won the game, 11-3. Kamiya finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Ginners couldn't hold off the Ferriers. "Takayashi was hitting everything," said Ginners manager . "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Takayashi Kamiya hit a solo-shot off Sean Jones in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. At the moment, Kamiya is batting .222 with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 37 games and scored 17 times. |
