2 Games in a Row for Rodriguez Sunday, June 22nd , 1958 The Onomichi Fishers may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 9-1, to the Hiroshima Ironmen, but Bobby Rodriguez continued to hit like a god. The shortstop collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 2 games. "Rodriguez is playing great and is on fire right now," Fishers manager said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Rodriguez was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Bobby Rodriguez flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. At present, Rodriguez is batting .382 with 58 hits and 11 home runs. He has knocked in 45 runs and scored 32 times. |
