Yao Socks It to Boomers, Cracks 5 Hits

Ke-yue Yao did a number on the Boomers in the 8-3 Kure victory -- and the number was 5. The Mariners second baseman banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Team Fields to lead his club past the Innoshima Boomers.
"I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."
Ke-yue Yao hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Ha-joon Kim in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
