Great Stroke: Frey Gets 5 Hits Tuesday, May 24th , 1955 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Hiroshima's 14-13 win over Matsuyama, catcher Hanskarl Frey was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Team Park. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Frey said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Hanskarl Frey grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 9th, struck out in the 12th and singled in the 14th. This season, Frey is swinging the bat at a .367 rate with 11 hits in 30 at-bats. To date he has hit 1 home run, scored 5 runs and driven in 7. |
