6-for-11 Game for Binder Monday, June 6th , 1955 It was a good day for the Trawlers at Team Park as they clipped the Innoshima Boomers, 7-6. It was tremendous day for Weiner Binder, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 6-for-11. "I don't know what to call that," the Itsukushima right fielder told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well." Weiner Binder struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, flied out in the 13th, grounded out in the 15th, singled in the 17th, flied out in the 19th, singled in the 21st, singled in the 23rd and walked in the 25th. This season in 29 games, Binder has hit at a .271 clip with 36 hits, 1 home run, 12 RBIs and 23 runs scored. |
