Rangel Makes History with Home Run Thursday, June 9th , 1955 It has been a special season for Willie Rangel. The Oceanview High School Triplets's second baseman continued to hit the ball hard, setting a new standard for home runs in a single season. Rangel launched home run number 14 today at Team Fields. The blast broke the record set previously by Antonio Ramirez. Willie Rangel was hit by a pitch in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a sac fly in the 3rd and homered off Pascal Dufour in the 5th. Currently Rangel is batting .348 with 49 hits and 14 home runs. He has knocked in 38 runs and scored 34 times. |
