Tuesday, May 6th , 1952
Onomichi third baseman Danny Turchi had a big day at Team Park against the Innoshima Boomers. The 17-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 15-3 Fishers triumph over Innoshima.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Turchi said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Danny Turchi grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
