Knierim Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Wednesday, May 14th , 1952 It was a parade of hits for Terry Knierim of the Hiroshima Ironmen at Team Park. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Knierim finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Ironmen to a win, 11-5. "Knierim was really good and we were really bad," groaned Ferriers manager . "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Terry Knierim singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. Knierim is currently batting .357 with no home runs and 4 RBIs. |
