Coleman Goes on Rampage Against Farmers Friday, May 23rd , 1958 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Marcus Coleman -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Team Park and paced the 20-16 Fishers win over the Matsuyama Farmers. After his dynamite batting performance, the Onomichi center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Marcus Coleman singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Bill Lang in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Coleman is hitting .339 this year with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 21 hits in 62 at-bats, 7 walks and a .414 on-base percentage. Coleman has played in 15 games. |
