Bond Red-Hot, TOBA Player of the Week Monday, August 1st , 1955 It was an extraordinary week for Owen Bond of the Mobile Monsters. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .458, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association. Last week Bond went 11-for-24, racked up 2 home runs and 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Mobile left fielder. So far in 1955 Bond is batting .295 with 12 home runs, 44 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 74 hits in 251 at-bats and a .394 OBP. |
