Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association Selects Premier Rookie Monday, September 19th , 1955 Today the Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association announced that Lisbon second baseman Sander Punter is the winner of the 1955 Rookie of the Year Award. He finished the regular season with a .304 batting average, 3 doubles, 6 triples and 13 home runs. Punter also had 35 RBIs and scored 36 times. He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner.
