Bouvet Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Saturday, July 17th , 1999 Gurvan Bouvet of the Mars Maniacs tagged 1 hit in today's 5-4 loss to the Ceres Asteroids at Ceres Stadium to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Gurvan Bouvet hit a two-run home run off Orlando Trigo in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. In 38 games this season, Bouvet has compiled a .335 batting average with 52 hits and 7 home runs. He has also scored 19 times and knocked in 38 runs. |
