Bouvet Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20 Sunday, July 18th , 1999 The Ceres Asteroids pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting Gurvan Bouvet hitless in 3 at-bats during the club's 4-2 victory over the Mars Maniacs at Ceres Stadium. The disappointing performance ended a 20-game hitting streak for the first baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Bouvet said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." To date, Bouvet has collected 52 hits for a .329 average. He has posted 7 home runs, scored 19 runs and driven in 38 runs. |
