Ljubljana Goes Scoreless Against Ralevic, Penguins
Monday, June 23rd , 1958
The Ljubljana Tigers manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Podgorica Penguins. The Tigers were overpowered by Podgorica starter Djodja Ralevic, who hurled his club to victory, 10-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said.
Over 9 innings, Ralevic blanked Ljubljana on 3 hits with no walks and 4 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Ralevic said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
Ralevic has made 11 starts so far this year and put up a 3-5 won-lost record with a 2.84 ERA. In 82.1 innings he has allowed 88 hits, walked 8 and struck out 33.
