Novi Sad's Simic Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Friday, May 20th , 1955 The Novi Sad Bears tripped up the Sarajevo Silver Knights, 22-6. The Bears were led by Lazar Simic, their 26-year-old right fielder. Simic made life miserable for Sarajevo pitchers all day, tagging them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Lazar Simic singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Zivojin Stambolic in the 8th.
