Belgrade Season Won't Continue in Playoffs Wednesday, July 8th , 1953 Members of the Belgrade Belters sat in stunned silence in their clubhouse, adjusting to the knowledge that they had lost their chance for a playoff berth this year. "We really thought we had the team to get into the playoffs," said first baseman Ognjeslav Popovic. The Belters are still searching for their first playoff appearance. The team also missed qualifying for the postseason last season. |
