Ognenovic Hurls No-Hitter
Tuesday, July 12th , 1955
In a dominant outing, Milan Ognenovic of the Sarajevo Silver Knights totally silenced the bats of the Pristina Panthers, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 8-0 victory, Ognenovic faced only 31 batters, surrendered no hits, had 6 strikeouts and 5 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Sarajevo manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Silver Knights had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Ognenovic pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This season, Ognenovic has registered 5 wins and 4 losses in 13 starts with a 3.22 ERA.
