Stopper Award Goes to Subasic Monday, August 1st , 1955 Borenko Subasic of the Podgorica Penguins has been named the winner of the 1955 Yugoball Stopper Award. The award comes at an opportune time too, as the 25-year-old is an impending free agent. "You always hope to have this type of year every year, but it's pretty special to have it before I go to free agency, if that happens," he said. On the year, the relief ace had a 2.25 ERA over 40 innings of work. He made 24 relief appearances and had 9 saves, 23 strikeouts, 11 walks and a record of 3-0. Opponent batters hit only .176 against him. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Sreten Erkocevic of the Belgrade Belters finished second in voting, while Zivojin Stambolic of the Sarajevo Silver Knights finished third.
