Tigers Star Receives Ace Award Thursday, August 4th , 1955 The Yugoball announced today that Ostoja Nikezic has been chosen the Ace Award winner for 1955. The Ljubljana starter had everything working for him this past season as he breezed to a 9-1 record. In his award-winning season Nikezic crafted a 1.77 ERA in 106.2 innings with 53 strikeouts and 17 walks. Opposing batters hit .252 against him in his 13 starts. He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 10. Hurem Jigovic of the Ljubljana Tigers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Pacu Ckrebic of the Zagreb Commodores finished third.
