At the age of only 24, the ace pitcher has accomplished a major feat, being named the 1955 Yugoball Ballplayer of the Year Award winner. His breakthrough campaign saw him put up a 9-1 record, while pitching 106.2 innings, with 53 strikeouts and 17 walks, for a 1.77 ERA. Nikezic was tough on hitters all season long, as they only put up a .252 batting average against him. "I had a lot of fun this season," the young talent said. He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 10.
