Madhubuti Voted July's #1 Newcomer Sunday, August 1st , 1999 July's sensation in the Sol Baseball League 2 was Lukwongwa Madhubuti of the Chiron Comets. For his outstanding pitching, league officials have made him their choice for the Rookie of the Month. For the month the 20-year-old Madhubuti recorded a 3-1 won-lost mark with a 2.06 ERA and 24 strikeouts in 35 innings. To date this year, Madhubuti shows a 5-6 record, 14 starts, 85 innings, 61 strikeouts and a 3.60 ERA. |
