Kakana Clips Ringers for Cycle Sunday, May 2nd , 1999 Getting 4 hits is a good day by any measure, but when those include a single, double, triple and a home run -- that's something special. Pakelika Kakana's day was a special one. The left fielder hit for the cycle to spark the 7-3 Tokyo 99ers victory over the Saturn Ringers at Saturn Field. Tokyo manager said he thought the whole lineup looked good in batting practice, but had not been expecting anything extraordinary from Kakana in particular. "Pakelika caught me by surprise today," the skipper said. "He looked good before the game, but man, he looked unbelievable during it." For the day, Kakana finished with 4 runs batted in and 1 run scored to go with his 4 hits. Pakelika Kakana singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Tim Dorey in the 7th and tripled in the 9th. View Boxscore |
