Sicily D Stymied by Brun Sunday, August 3rd , 1958 Julien Brun was in a mood to talk following the Providence D Chicks contest against the Sicily D Red Wings, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Red Wings, 1-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Brun said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The left-hander blanked Sicily D on a 5-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 7 strikeouts. In 9 starts this season, Brun has recorded 6 wins and absorbed 2 losses. He has pitched 63 innings, allowed 63 hits, struck out 57 and has a 3.57 ERA. |
