Lisbon Loses, 2-0, to Gold Miners, Donnelly
Wednesday, July 1st , 1953
Rich Donnelly was in a mood to talk following the New York D Gold Miners contest against the Lisbon Jazz, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Jazz, 2-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Donnelly said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Lisbon on a 4-hitter, allowing 3 walks and racking up 6 strikeouts.
