Stangel Shuts Out Lisbon, 1-0 Monday, June 24th , 1957 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Lisbon Jazz as starter John Stangel shut them out, 1-0, at Houston S A Fields. The Mobile D pitcher struck out 7 and walked 0 while allowing 6 hits. "Stangel was good but he wasn't flawless," Lisbon manager said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Mobile D, but this is on us." |
