MacDonald Beguiles Iceland D Friday, June 28th , 1957 In a remarkable performance, Los Angeles D Kodiaks starter Steve MacDonald beat the Iceland D Rail Cats, 4-0, in an impressive 7-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Kodiaks hurler finished with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Iceland D manager said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was." For the year, MacDonald has compiled a 3-2 record with a 1.67 ERA. |
