Paris D Blanked by Dowell, 2-0
Wednesday, August 5th , 1953
Bobby Dowell was in a mood to talk following the Mobile D Magicians contest against the Paris D Steelheads, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Steelheads, 2-0.

"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Dowell said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."

The right-hander blanked Paris D on a 6-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 8 strikeouts.

So far this season, Dowell has a 2-1 record, 5 starts, 37.2 innings, 36 strikeouts and a 2.63 ERA.
