Bucey Beguiles Providence D
Wednesday, September 16th , 1953
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Providence D Chicks as starter Jimmy Bucey shut them out, 5-0, at Rail Cats Field. The Iceland D pitcher struck out 7 and walked 1 while allowing 5 hits.
"Bucey was good but he wasn't flawless," Providence D manager said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Iceland D, but this is on us."
This season, Bucey has worked 44 innings with 44 strikeouts en route to a 2-3 record and a 4.70 ERA.
