Ellis Tames Boston School of Applied Sciences & Technologies Friday, March 25th , 1955 It wasn't easy but the Buffalo Junior College Warhawks made it look that way. Starter Greg Ellis shut out the Boston School of Applied Sciences & Technologies Canucks despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Buffalo Junior College Warhawks cruised to victory, 13-0. Ellis allowed only 3 hits and rang up 2 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." So far this year, Ellis has made 6 starts, tossed 38 innings, struck out 16 batters and walked 29. His record is 4-2 with a 4.50 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .279 batting average. |
