Warhawks Blank Fresno Community College, Velarde Winner Tuesday, March 29th , 1955 Hector Velarde of the Buffalo Junior College Warhawks humiliated the Fresno Community College Big Stick at Warhawks Stadium, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 2 hits. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Fresno Community College manager , after the game. Velarde whiffed 5 and walked 6 in the 14-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Velarde said. "I was making good pitches the entire game." This season, Velarde has a 4-3 record with a 4.33 ERA. |
