Ghent Community College Stops Kinniburgh Hit Streak Thursday, April 9th , 1959 Fresno Community College Big Stick first baseman Dave Kinniburgh finally met his Waterloo. A 26-game hitting spree is now history after Kinniburgh was unable to make anything happen in 5 at-bats today against the Ghent Community College Mud Cats. Fortunately for Kinniburgh and the Big Stick, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game, 7-6. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 26 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." So far this season, Kinniburgh has 8 home runs and a .375 batting average. |
