Paris Agricultural College's Gibbs Snags Pitcher of the Year Award Monday, May 9th , 1955 Vaughan Gibbs of the Paris Agricultural College Drillers has been selected the premier pitcher in the TOBA Junior College and will receive the Pitcher of the Year Award for 1955. The top vote-getter completed the year with a 9-4 record. He started 15 times, threw 133.2 innings, chalked up 93 strikeouts and 37 walks, limited hitters to a .206 batting average and posted an impressive 2.63 ERA. He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Greg Ellis of the Buffalo Junior College Warhawks finished second in voting, while Edwin Montes of the Berlin Technical College Jayhawks finished third.
