Berlin Technical College Snaps Salafia Streak at 20 Friday, March 28th , 1958 It was a doubly miserable day for Chad Salafia of the Boston School of Applied Sciences & Technologies Canucks, as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 4-0, to the Berlin Technical College Jayhawks at Jayhawks Park. The 19-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Jayhawks. "Anyone on a 20-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Berlin Technical College manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." On the year, Salafia has hit .430 with 6 home runs, 23 RBIs and scored 22 runs. |
