Seafarers Turn Away Stars, 4-3
|
The Lisbon Seafarers picked up a win at Seafarers Stadium, dropping the Los Angeles Stars, 4-3. Zee-loo Fan, who is tied for 7th in the TOBA with a 4.6 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. In 8.1 innings, Fan surrendered 10 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. The triumph puts Lisbon at 26-20 for the season.
Lisbon second baseman Eric Snow contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Seafarers ahead, 4-2.
Snow called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
