Lions Stumble, Lose to Skyliners
|
The Paris Lions could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Yvain Vecchio into a win. Instead, the New York Skyliners prevailed, 8-4. Vecchio came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters. New York pitcher Matt Heydt got the win. He's now 6-6. Teruo Noda was tagged with the loss. The win lifted the New York record to 30-17.
New York used the hitting of Noah McMillan to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Skyliners on top, 6-0. For the game, McMillan had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Nice win for us," said McMillan. "Now we'll go after the next one."
