Mikkola Thwarts New York, 7-0
Iiro Mikkola kept the New York Skyliners hitters from doing much damage at Paris Municipal Park.

New York could only muster 6 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Mikkola, who controlled them throughout the game. Paris won the contest, 7-0. Mikkola added 2 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.

"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Mikkola told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."

To date Mikkola is 7-5 in 14 starts with a 4.68 ERA and has 50 strikeouts in 98 innings.
