Monsters Topple Lions, 9-3, as Bond Shines
The Mobile Monsters began the 1955 season with a convincing 9-3 win over the Paris Lions at Mobile Park. Most impressive was Mobile first baseman Owen Bond, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Hiromi Yoneda wrapped it up, recording his 1st save.

With Mobile leading 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Bond hit a sinker from Justin Hoover for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Monsters ahead, 6-2.

"We maximized our offense today," said Mobile skipper Dan Danielson. "That makes everyone's life easier."
