Iceland catcher Wu-shiun Huo was sensational. He was 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Paris beat the Aurora, 6-5. Will Brouwer was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Tim Siragusa. The defeat makes Iceland 26-25.

Paris used the timely hitting of Roger Walter to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lions on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments to the Paris Today, Walter said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
