Monsters Drop 2-1 Decision
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Lisbon Seafarers and Mobile Monsters.
The Lisbon Seafarers rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Elliot Martin to a win, beating the Mobile Monsters, 2-1, at Seafarers Stadium. Martin picked up the win for Lisbon, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1.
Lisbon first baseman Kazu Nakanishi helped the Seafarers go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Nakanishi hit a run-scoring single off Mobile pitcher Oscar Martel.
"We're playing hard," said Martin, "and we're playing to win."
The Seafarers have an impressive 35-22 record.
