Lions Get Clutch Win Versus New York
Paris Lions starter Iiro Mikkola pitched a strong game against the New York Skyliners at Paris Municipal Park, leading the Lions to victory, 3-2. Mikkola, who finished 4th in the TOBA in ERA with 2.68 in 1952, went the distance for Paris. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. New York is now 2-4.

Jan Danielsson was the walk-off hero for Paris. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lions pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said New York manager Dan Danielson. "We just didn't cash in."
