Skyliners Need Extra Frames to Get Past Anglers
|
The New York Skyliners topped the Providence Anglers, 3-2, in 10 innings at Skyliners Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Matt Heydt. Mike Butler snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits over 3 innings. He's now 3-3 on the season. The setback makes Providence 31-28.
The Skyliners got a clutch hit from center fielder Noah McMillan. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Skyliners.
"It was our day today," Heydt told the New York Observer. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
