New York Absorbs 4-1 Loss to Providence
|
The Providence Anglers defeated the New York Skyliners, 4-1, in Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association action at Skyliners Stadium. Providence pitcher Alexandre Lefevre had a standout performance. Lefevre, who is tied for 4th in the TOBA in quality starts with 10, went the distance for Providence. He gave up 1 run on 8 hits. With the win, Providence upped its record to 30-30.
Kei Kamiya, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1954, had a direct impact on the outcome. Kamiya contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Providence up, 3-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Lefevre said after the game.
