Hiilani Excels, But Isotopes Win
Maniac Manor was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Io Isotopes and Mars Maniacs.

The Io Isotopes withstood a fine game by Mars first baseman Alohanani Hiilani at Maniac Manor, to upend the Maniacs, 9-8. Hiilani went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Pablo Ramos got the save, the 15th for him this season.

Hector Lopez had a big run-scoring double for the Isotopes in the top of the seventh inning. With Io leading 8-5 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Scott Buske and swatted a double to left. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Isotopes ahead, 9-5.

Lopez said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.

The win gives Io a season record of 35-23.
